The Cross Pollinator

The Cross Pollinator is a unique crossbow in Minecraft Dungeons II built around pure speed. Cross-pollinate mobs with sharpened twigs and see what grows from what is left — its effect slashes the time between shots by 40%, turning the crossbow into a buzzing, relentless stream of bolts that overwhelms anything in front of it.

Stats and mechanics

The built-in effect reduces time between shots with ranged weapons by 40% — a bigger fire-rate boost than the rare Scatter Crossbow's 30%, and it applies to the weapon's own cycle. Its Ranger + Trickster archetype and light weight keep it quick to wield, and it sits in C tier for calculated DPS. More shots per second means more damage, more enchantment triggers, and more pressure on everything downrange. Bolts are unlimited and regenerate on their own, so the accelerated pace never runs dry. Enchantments that trigger on hits are the standout pairing: the Cross Pollinator procs them faster than nearly any other crossbow.

How to get it

The Cross Pollinator drops in Frozen Highlands, Howling Woods and Ravines. It appears as the unique roll of the Rapid Crossbow — any Rapid Crossbow drop can come out as this one, so farming that weapon's sources is the way to hunt it.

Builds and playstyles

The Cross Pollinator is the fire-rate king of the crossbow family — ideal for trigger-happy heroes and on-hit enchanting builds. Heroes who want projectiles as well as speed should hunt the Harp Crossbow with its 60% chance of extra bolts. The Scatter Crossbow is the rare stepping stone toward this playstyle, and the plain Crossbow is where the family starts.
