Overview

Scenario details

An antiquity campaign pack focused on the Greek world. Mission order and scenario notes: 1. Prologue: Gates of the Gods — Artaphernes leads the Persian expedition into Babylon. Clear the river approach, then take the Ziggurat; exploring the region for mercenary camps can add troops and shape the bodyguard choice carried into the next mission 2. Greeks Bearing Gifts — The Persians must secure a supply route before Aristagoras launches the attack on Naxos. Patrol the roads and escort the carts against bandits; once the mission shifts to sea, destroy the Naxian Shipyards while the Ionian fleet presses the city 3. The Ionian Revolt — The revolt spreads across Ionia as the Persian garrisons come under attack. Restore control of settlements and defensive positions, build up the force around the marked Town Center site, and pursue Aristagoras to end the uprising 4. A City Ablaze — Artaphernes holds the Acropolis while Greek forces occupy Sardis and fires spread through its districts. Survive the opening attacks, then push through the city to restore key districts and open a gate before confronting Aristagoras at the agora 5. Chasing Smoke — After Sardis, Artaphernes pursues the rebels to Ephesus. Prepare ambushes along the approach, build an army once reinforcements arrive, and weaken the defenders before besieging the city. Helping Artemisia and completing local tasks provide additional support 6. Death to Traitors — The Persian campaign closes in on Miletus, where Aristagoras is protected by a fortified city and a large fleet. Cut the Ionian naval production by destroying all six Shipyards, then break through the city’s defenses to eliminate Aristagoras 7. Earth and Water — The final Achaemenid mission combines island warfare with a major naval build-up. Secure an early landing, protect your bases from enemy fleets, and use transports and siege forces to reach Carystos and destroy its Forts. Assisting Artemisia and clearing other island strongholds are additional objectives 8. The Battle of Marathon — Themistocles travels across Attica as the Persian army approaches. Help local communities, gather scattered soldiers, and recruit mercenaries before joining Miltiades at Marathon. The preparation phase is timed, so each completed task improves the forces available for the final battle 9. Raise the Sails — Themistocles turns Athens into a naval power while rival fleets threaten the Laurion silver mines. Choose how to secure political support, build naval experience by fighting pirates and Aeginetans, defend the mines, and eventually defeat Aegina by destroying its three Forts 10. The Hot Gates — The defense unfolds in two linked fronts: first protect the fleet and block Persian transports at Artemisium, then lead Leonidas’ force at Thermopylae. Units and resources are limited, so hold the chokepoints, recover forward Outposts for combat bonuses, and preserve enough soldiers to withstand the final assault 11. Divine Salamis — The Athenians defend Salamis while Persian fleets pressure the island from several directions. Strengthen the economy and navy, clear the blockades when ready, and withstand Artemisia’s assault before pushing across the water to destroy the Persian Forts at the Piraeus 12. Across the Wine-Dark Sea — The Athenians and Pausanias compete to take control of the coastal settlements. Capturing village towers improves passive income, while capturing city Forts expands your territory and unlocks access to the Persian stronghold. The Bowl of Menelaus can be delivered to either ally, changing their support in the campaign 13. Wrath of the Regent — Themistocles races Pausanias to the Acropolis while Persian forces threaten Byzantium’s trade buildings. Build an army quickly and push through the city’s successive defenses before the Spartans arrive; the Statue of Helios offers a separate choice that affects your allies 14. The Fruits of Empire — As leader of the Delian League, Athens must balance tribute demands with the risk of its allies rebelling. Establish the Wonder on Delos, choose the tribute level, and prepare for the inevitable conflict with Carystos and Naxos. Destroying rebel Forts restores control of their territories 15. Within the Long Walls — Athens is trapped behind the Long Walls while Spartan forces devastate the countryside. The mission is won through politics rather than conquest: manage the declining Favor meter and complete timely civic or military tasks so the Assembly keeps you in office through three elections 16. I Am Brasidas — Brasidas and Lysander must cross hostile territory to reach Methone, then organize the city’s defense against a sustained Athenian siege. Keep the Fort secure while striking the supply camps that feed the besieging army; liberated Helot farms provide extra resources for the defense 17. Pyres on the Coast — Athenian landing parties raid the coastal towns in waves while Brasidas’ forces defend several separate settlements. Recruit Helot support, build defenses where raids are expected, and keep enough Trade Workshops standing until the required enemy force has been defeated 18. Speeches and Spears — Brasidas seeks to weaken Athens by turning its northern allies rather than attacking the city itself. Capture settlements through persuasion or force, secure Amphipolis as a stronghold, and build support across the region before confronting Cleon 19. To the Wall! — Lysander arrives in Sicily as Syracuse tries to block the Athenian siege with a counter-wall. Protect the builders until the defensive line is complete; afterward, raise an economy and navy to break the Athenian blockade and destroy its Forts 20. Blood and Gold — Lysander must assemble a fleet at Ephesus while raising funds from the Ionian coast. Raid towns for resources, balance the size of the army against the ships you can purchase, then choose when to launch the decisive battle against the Athenian Navy 21. The Fall of Athens — Lysander’s victory depends on cutting Athens off from both land and sea. Capture the Acropolis directly or seize the three Storehouses and hold them until the city surrenders, while destroying ship production to prevent the Athenians from rebuilding a fleet of 80 warships Use the named objectives, starting setup, and mission order in this entry to distinguish it from the standard skirmish rules.
