Overview

Andreas leads sorties beyond besieged Bari to weaken the Norman army before the final assault. Complete the assigned raids and bring food back to the city, hold Bari through the siege, then take command of the fleet to break the blockade.

Player approach

The Onrushing Tide alternates an outward raid with defense of Bari. Securing resource rewards, safe healing, trade income, and relics helps sustain the later waves.

Step-by-step plan

Send a mobile group to the nearest Mill and return its Trade Cart to the Castle for the resource reward. Continue only as far as the next useful objective, then regroup rather than chasing enemy Villagers into a defended base. Use Monks to heal between fights and collect relics when a safe route opens. Once Bari comes under attack, start Trade Carts early, protect the Market route, and anchor archers and cavalry near the city’s defenses.

Risks and adjustments

On Hard difficulty, completing objectives quickly can trigger a stronger assault before the defense is ready. Avoid leaving Bari without a garrison, keep Monks away from direct combat, and use trade or relic income to prepare the army before pushing the next objective.
