Overview

Use the Bengalis’ safer age-up economy to reach a strong Castle Age, then combine Rathas, elephant units, and Monks according to the opponent’s counters. Protect the expensive core with flexible ranged support.

Opening decision and first timing

Time each age advance so the two free Town Center Villagers can begin useful work immediately; prepare housing and safe gathering space before they appear. A defensive Feudal army can protect that economic gain if the opponent is already near the base. On water, regenerating ships help preserve a fleet after small exchanges, provided damaged ships can leave combat.

Composition, counters, and transition

Elephants are a major investment even with their resistance to bonus damage and conversion. Screen them, protect the food and gold income that sustains replacements, and add a counter when the opponent builds a specialized answer. Rathas give a more flexible mounted option, while armored Monks can support a slower push or secure Relics behind it.

Opening priorities

Use the extra Villager safety gained on age advancement to keep the economy stable through transitions. Scout the map and opponent before choosing between a fast technology lead and early pressure.

Core army

Rathas can switch between ranged and melee roles, while elephant units supply durability and Monks support conversions and healing. Mix these tools instead of sending elephants forward unsupported.

Technology & transition

The civilization’s Monk bonuses reward relic control and investment in Monastery upgrades. Add ranged support when enemy spear units threaten the elephant core.

Watch for

Elephant armies cost heavily and move slowly; preserve them, maintain production, and use flexible units to answer pikes and mobile raids.
