Bogsveigar archer-upgrade endgame plan
Bogsveigar improves Viking ranged-unit damage, but its high cost makes it a late-stage investment after the core attack, range, and firing upgrades. Time it to a sustained archer or naval composition.

Overview
Bogsveigar improves Viking ranged-unit damage, but its high cost makes it a late-stage investment after the core attack, range, and firing upgrades. Time it to a sustained archer or naval composition.
Plan and execution
Complete the standard ranged upgrades and maintain a mass of Arbalesters before researching Bogsveigar. Use the additional damage against durable targets that would otherwise blunt the Viking archer line, and protect the firing group with Pikemen or cavalry support. If Elite Longships are the main investment, keep them grouped so the extra projectile damage contributes to a meaningful fleet fight.
Risks and adaptation
Bogsveigar is expensive and often comes after cheaper, broader improvements. Do not delay Bracer or Chemistry for it, and avoid researching it when your army is transitioning away from foot archers or Longships.
