Overview

Guiscard Arrives rewards taking over the first Red camp instead of razing it, then using that production and population space to capture a safer walled town. The opening depends on careful target selection.

Plan and execution

Gather the starting troops south of the gate and claim the first camp by changing diplomacy and defeating its guards, while keeping Guiscard alive and the buildings intact. Spend the starting resources on Serjeants to maintain pressure. Cross west toward the Yellow village but continue to the walled town first; use Light Cavalry to remove the Monk, Serjeants to engage Pikemen, and the rest of the mobile force against Crossbowmen. Secure the Town Center and University before confronting the other fronts, then defend against attacks arriving by transport from the south.

Risks and adaptation

Destroying captured buildings sacrifices production and population capacity. Do not let Guiscard take concentrated damage while leading every fight, and avoid a premature attack on the Yellow village if it would leave the force without a protected base.
