Opening decision and first timing
Use the cheaper Market and lower exchange fees to correct a short-term resource imbalance, such as funding Archer production or reaching Castle Age. Repeated trades still consume value, so continue gathering the resource the army truly needs. The foot-archer building bonus can pressure structures, but do not fire under defensive buildings without a safe route out.
Composition, counters, and transition
Camels with extra hit points are an answer to enemy mounted armies, while Mamelukes need protection from ranged and infantry counters. On water, faster Galleys can contest a fleet; tougher transports matter for a planned landing rather than a default investment. In a long land push, Bimaristan or Counterweights should be chosen for the actual Monk or siege composition in use.
Opening priorities

Core army
Archers, Camels, and naval units give the civilization several counter-focused options.
Technology & transition
Turn Market flexibility into Castle Age production, then use the unique technology and Monks where they fit.
Watch for
Market trades cost resources and many military choices consume gold; keep the economy balanced before a long push.
