Overview
Shu: Adjust the first Villager assignments to take advantage of the food gained while gathering wood. Arbalesters and siege form a strong land core, with the navy available on water maps.
Opening decision and first timing
Woodcutters generate some food, easing the first resource split. Cheaper Archery Range and Blacksmith archery research makes a ranged opening attractive when the map exposes an enemy resource. Keep enough wood for the production building and Farms; the passive food gain is an aid, not a replacement for a planned food economy.
Composition, counters, and transition
White Feather Guards and War Chariots give different support roles, while faster land siege can reach a target sooner. Protect siege during the move and use scouting to decide whether a ranged or melee screen is needed. The Chronicles hero and unit roster differs from the medieval game, so verify which upgrades and buildings this civilization can actually access before committing resources.
Opening priorities
Adjust the first Villager assignments to take advantage of the food gained while gathering wood.
Core army
Arbalesters and siege form a strong land core, with the navy available on water maps.
Technology & transition
Use wood efficiency to keep ranged production flowing, then add the unique technology and siege support.
Watch for
The opening depends on balancing food and wood; follow the plan only if the map and starting resources support it.
