York northern-isles expansion
York begins with a small landing party and asks you to establish a base. The Isle of Man is easier to defend and can yield a free Castle, while Ireland or Scotland offers better room for a durable economy and trade.

Overview
York begins with a small landing party and asks you to establish a base. The Isle of Man is easier to defend and can yield a free Castle, while Ireland or Scotland offers better room for a durable economy and trade.
Plan and execution
Scout the landing sites and choose a base that can expand without exposing the starting party. If settling the Isle of Man, clear the central Monastery and account for its limited resources; otherwise establish on southern Ireland or northern Scotland and plan to secure an enemy Market for trade. Complete the required buildings, add Houses before the timed fleet arrival, and prepare production to use the forty Elite Longships as soon as they join.
Risks and adaptation
The island option is resource-poor and can still face landing parties. The fleet arrival increases population demand sharply, so build housing in advance and keep enough Villagers safe to sustain production.
