Admiral Jinhai
Admiral Wang Jinhai is the main antagonist of Act II: China in The Asian Dynasties campaign. He is a fictional Ming admiral and hero unit who claims Treasures, fights with a bow and regenerates health. His strong ranged profile supports campaign combat, while his collapse-and-rescue rule means a zero-health result is not automatically a permanent loss.

Hero role and campaign identity
Jinhai has 1,500 hit points, 40% hand resistance, speed 5.0 and line of sight 15. His ranged attack deals 24 damage at range 16 every 3 seconds; in hand combat he deals 14 damage every 1.5 seconds, and his siege attack deals 14 at range 6 every 3 seconds. After remaining idle for 3.5 seconds, he regenerates 0.25% of his maximum hit points per second. If reduced to zero, he collapses; once he has regenerated at least 100 hit points, a nearby friendly unit or building can revive him. He can claim Treasures, but unlike the Shaolin Master he cannot build Trading Posts or Town Centers and has no additional special ability.

Chinese campaign hero · 1,500 hit points · 40% hand resistance · 24 ranged damage at range 16 every 3 seconds · 14 hand damage every 1.5 seconds · 14 siege damage at range 6 every 3 seconds · regenerates 0.25% maximum hit points per second after 3.5 seconds idle.
Attacks and recovery
Use his ranged attack to support the campaign force from behind its frontline and claim Treasures as objectives allow. His 16 range is useful for contributing without moving into hand combat, but the 3-second ranged interval rewards keeping him alive through a longer engagement. If he collapses, keep a friendly unit or building nearby while his idle regeneration restores at least 100 hit points. Do not rely on him to establish a Trading Post or Town Center; that construction ability belongs to the Shaolin Master.
Character and story
Jinhai is presented as the nephew of the Ming emperor Zhu Di and is given honorary military positions despite having little experience. He commands part of a treasure fleet associated with Zheng He’s voyages. Captain Jian Huang and Lao Chen do much of the practical work while Jinhai pursues his own interests. His apparent capture by the Zamorin of Kozhikode is part of a scheme to rob the treasure ships. After reaching the New World, he foments a mutiny, persuades Aztecs that he is a god and tries to establish an empire. Jian Huang, Lao Chen and their allies defeat him; No Empire Lasts Forever closes his campaign story.
Combat limits
Jinhai’s ranged attack is his main combat tool, while his shorter-range hand and siege attacks cover different target situations. He does not have the Shaolin Master’s building ability or an extra named special ability. Protect him during recovery: regeneration begins only after he has been idle for 3.5 seconds, and revival still requires a nearby friendly unit or building once the 100-hit-point threshold is reached.
