Scenario setting & objectives

The required goals are Find a safe location to unload your boats; Travel towards the safe location marked on the map; Build a Town Center to establish your camp; Destroy the Tatar fortress of Qashliq. Optional goals include Protect the Russian village to the north; Destroy the Tatar camp to end their raids; Build a Trading Post in the west route.

Mission approach

Assign one player to guide and protect the landing force while the other prepares the camp and guards the boat route. Do not unload until the marked shore is safe; establish the Town Center before moving on Qashliq. Keep a reserve for Tatar raids and coordinate protection of the northern Russian village with the final fortress assault.

Russian escape and Qashliq assault

Chuvash Cape is a cooperative Historical Battle in Definitive Edition set in 1582. Two players command Russian forces against the Tatars, with Yermak Timofeyevich featured in the scenario. The required sequence begins with finding a safe place to unload the boats, travelling to the marked location and building a Town Center to establish camp. The team then must destroy the Tatar fortress of Qashliq. Optional objectives are to protect the northern Russian village, destroy the Tatar camp to end raids and build a Trading Post on the western route. The first phase is about safely getting ashore and securing the base; do not rush past the marked landing before the objective is satisfied. Once the Town Center is established, divide players between defending the Russian village, expanding the economy and preparing a siege force. The optional Tatar camp can reduce raids, while the western Trading Post supports map control. Keep builders protected and coordinate the attack on Qashliq so siege units are not exposed. Check the objective panel as each phase completes, since the mission changes from escape to settlement and then assault.

Establishing a safe base

The landing and Town Center stages are prerequisites for the final attack, so treat them as objectives rather than skipping ahead. Keep the Russian forces together while unloading, then use the marked safe location to establish the camp. Once the Town Center is built, split roles between the players: one can protect the northern village or clear the Tatar camp while the other gathers resources and prepares units for Qashliq. The optional western Trading Post adds route control, but it should not expose builders without an escort. End raids by destroying the Tatar camp when the main base is stable, then concentrate the force and siege on Qashliq. Keep checking the objective tracker to ensure that each stage has registered.

Optional objectives and final assault

The optional Russian village, Tatar camp and western Trade Route Trading Post each affect the team’s position. Protect the northern village to preserve an ally, clear the camp to end raids and build the western post when the route is safe. These can be split between players after the Town Center is established. Do not leave the base without defense while one player moves to a distant objective. The final required target is Qashliq, so gather siege and a screen before approaching the fortress. Once the camp is secure, rally both forces toward the attack and keep Yermak’s group together. Check the mission objectives as each task finishes.

Protecting the landing route

Keep the boats moving to the marked safe location and unload only when the shore is clear. A Town Center must be built before the team can establish its base and prepare the assault on Qashliq.

Divide landing, settlement and fortress responsibilities

The co-op scenario follows the same objective chain as the solo Chuvash Cape battle: find the marked safe unloading site, reach it, build a Town Center and destroy Qashliq. One player can scout the landing zone and protect the boats while the other prepares to establish the camp once the route is safe. After landing, assign builders and an escort to the Town Center rather than sending every unit toward the fortress. Optional protection of the northern Russian village, destruction of the Tatar raid camp and construction of a western Trading Post can be divided between players if the settlement is secure. Regroup before the final fortress siege and keep reinforcements flowing from the Town Center. The co-op version rewards a clear division of tasks but still requires the whole team to complete the same landing and settlement milestones.
