Effect & research conditions
Research costs 1,500 Wood and takes 55 seconds. The technology provides an initial group and a continuing production route. Crown Grenadiers can also regenerate over time, so keep surviving units out of danger when possible. Reserve population for the shipment and protect the Church during the long research.
Research condition
Available to Poles from the Fortress Age. Research it at Church. It requires Sobieski's Janissaries.
When to research
Research when the Polish army can afford the Wood, wait for the technology and use the arriving Grenadiers in a planned push. The Fort unlock lets the player reinforce later, but requires the production structure and additional resources. Keep the units supported and avoid losing the initial group before Fort production is ready.
Prepare for a long research and later Fort production
Crown Grenadiers is a large investment that first delivers ten units and then enables Fort training. Its hit-point and regeneration bonuses make survivors more durable, but the 55-second research creates a long window without the immediate reinforcement. Protect the Church and maintain other army production while it completes. Afterward, use Forts to replace losses only if the economy can sustain the cost and the Grenadiers fit the matchup.
