Role, availability & values
Production is available through Aztec War Chief. It has 80 hit points and 10% ranged resistance. It moves at 5.0 speed. Training costs 80 Food; it takes 7 seconds to train. Attack profile: Hand attack deals 10 damage. Ranged attack deals 10 damage. Siege attack deals 5 damage. Hand attack bonuses: Same as ranged attack. Ranged attack bonuses: 1.8× against Treasure guardian, 0.4× against Hero, and 0.1× against Villager. Special ability or role: Stealth mode.
Matchup & timing
Ranged attack is especially effective against Treasure guardian (1.8×). Its reduced multipliers against Hero (0.4×), Villager (0.1×) make it less suitable for those targets. Use ranged fire to focus Treasure guardian before they can close. Keep a frontline between this unit and threats that can reach it safely.
Aztec stealth scout and Treasure fighter
Eagle Scout is Aztec ranged infantry available in the Exploration Age through the Aztec War Chief. It costs 80 Food, trains in seven seconds and uses no separate production building. The unit has 80 hit points, 10% ranged resistance, speed 5.0 and line of sight 16. Its ranged attack deals 10 damage at ranges two to 12 every 1.5 seconds; its hand attack also deals 10 damage, and its siege attack five. The Eagle Scout can enter Stealth mode and receives 1.8× damage against Treasure guardians. This makes it useful for scouting and supporting the War Chief in a guarded Treasure fight, but its 80 hit points and low damage against Heroes and Villagers make it a specialist rather than a frontline infantry unit. Use stealth to approach or reveal terrain when detection is unlikely, then bring the scout back to friendly units. It costs Food that may be needed for Villagers, so train it when the information or Treasure reward justifies the expense. Keep the Aztec War Chief close enough to provide access and support.
Stealth scouting and guardian damage
The Eagle Scout’s Stealth mode supports scouting and careful approach, while its 1.8× bonus against Treasure guardians helps the Aztec War Chief secure map rewards. Its ranged attack has a short two-to-12 range and 1.5-second interval, allowing repeated fire, but the unit has only 80 hit points. It deals reduced damage against Heroes and Villagers, so do not use it to chase either target. Bring it with the War Chief or another force that can protect it, reveal terrain safely and disengage when detection or enemy troops threaten it. The 80-Food cost and seven-second production are low enough for a quick utility choice, but repeated production still takes resources away from the Aztec opening. Treat it as a scout and Treasure helper, not as the main ranged line.
Protect the scout
Stealth can help the unit explore, but detection and its 80 hit points make an unsupported approach risky. Keep the Aztec War Chief near the Scout and withdraw when the route is revealed.
Exploration Age access
The Aztec War Chief provides access to the Scout. Keep it close to the hero, use stealth when the route is safe and avoid prolonged fights with enemy infantry.
Aztec stealth scout and guardian hunter
The Eagle Scout is an Aztec ranged-infantry unit trained through the Aztec War Chief from the Exploration Age. Stealth mode supports covert scouting and positioning, while 16 line of sight helps reveal nearby terrain. Its 10-damage ranged attack fires at 2–12 range and deals 1.8× damage to Treasure guardians, making it useful on an early expedition when a manageable reward is nearby. It has only 80 hit points and modest resistance, so a direct fight with a military force is dangerous. Use concealment to inspect an approach or assist against guardians, then keep the Scout with the War Chief or withdraw before it is exposed.
Training and careful target selection
An Eagle Scout costs 80 Food and takes seven seconds to train, with no recorded population cost. That makes it a quick addition to an Aztec expedition, but not a free unit: the Food could support Villagers or military production. Its attack is greatly reduced against Heroes and Villagers, so neither is an efficient target. Use the guardian bonus when scouting identifies a Treasure the force can safely clear, and coordinate with the War Chief to claim it. Stealth helps with information and approach, but it does not provide durability once the Scout is revealed. Keep a route open and prioritize the map information or Treasure support the unit can deliver.
