Eurasian Steppe - Survival
Eurasian Steppe - Survival is a multiplayer-only special-map variant of Eurasian Steppe. Players begin with Villagers and a Town Center but without a Hero, scouting unit or normal natural-resource field. A fast Home City shipment and some starting infrastructure provide the first route into the economy; the map challenges players to build a supply chain from those limited tools.

Map variant & availability
The map removes natural resource deposits and huntable resources, while retaining Trading Post sockets and settlements for economic access. Unlike the LOST version, this start already has a Town Center, so the first decisions concern how to turn the incoming shipment, starting infrastructure and available trade or Native options into dependable income. Jagiellon, Oldenburg and Tengri settlements can provide civilization-specific choices. The no-resource condition makes the deck and map variant integral to the rules, rather than optional refinements to an ordinary build order.
Starting rules
Prepare a deck with an opening source of resources or access to income-producing infrastructure; ordinary gather plans cannot start until the map-specific economy is online. Secure available Trading Posts and settlements when their rewards match the civilization, then protect them because they may be the only lasting source of key resources. Use shipments deliberately and compare their immediate crates or units with the infrastructure needed to sustain later production. Do not copy the LOST opening: this variant supplies a Town Center and Villagers but removes exploration and natural gathering.
An operating Town Center with no natural resources
Survival starts with a Town Center and Villagers, but no Hero, Scout, huntable animals or natural resource deposits. The player cannot begin with the usual hunt-and-mine gathering pattern. A fast Home City shipment and the map’s starting infrastructure must establish the first income stream; the rules therefore reward a deck and opening that can create resources or exploit available Trade Route and settlement access.
Use trade and settlements to build a sustainable economy
Trading Post sockets and Jagiellon, Oldenburg and Tengri settlements remain relevant even though ordinary resource nodes are absent. Secure the economic access that matches the civilization, then protect the Trading Posts and settlement routes that keep income flowing. The opening is not the LOST variant: Survival already supplies a Town Center and workers, but removes the Hero, scouting unit and natural gathering sites. Do not follow a treasure-driven LOST build order.
