Function & construction
African Villagers and their counterparts construct Huts. Levy access and unit strength depend on civilization cards and the active game version; the units are not interchangeable with European House or Barracks options. The Hut’s population role remains important even when its levy units are not part of the army plan.
Placement & timing
Add Huts before population space runs out and account for their Levy options when a quick defensive force is useful. Protect housing structures so a raid cannot suddenly block multiple production queues. Check the African technology tree and current cards before assuming the same unit access across civilizations.
Housing with a small levy roster
An African Hut costs 100 Wood, supports 10 population and takes 10 seconds to build in its recorded profile. It can train Levied Spearmen and Levied Bowmen, giving the housing structure a limited defensive role as well as a population function. The building has 1,200 hit points and a build limit of 20; up to eight eligible builders can work on it. Levy access depends on the African civilization and its rules, so check the roster before relying on the Hut for emergency troops. Protect Huts as part of the housing plan because losing several can remove capacity and stall production.
