Role, availability & values

Production is available through Aztec War Chief. It has 90 hit points. It moves at 5.0 speed. Training costs 100 Food; it takes 16 seconds to train. Attack profile: Hand attack deals 10 damage. Hand attack bonuses: 3.0× against Treasure guardian and 0.1× against Villager.

Matchup & timing

Janey is trained through the Aztec War Chief and brings a 10-damage attack with a 3× Treasure-Guardian bonus. Use her to help clear a nearby Treasure, but do not send her against Villagers or a regular army: the listed Villager multiplier is only 0.1×. Keep the pet near the hero and let the War Chief absorb the main threat.

Aztec War Chief pet

Janey is an Aztec pet unit obtained through the Aztec War Chief in the original game and Definitive Edition. It costs 100 Food, takes 16 seconds to train and has 90 hit points, 10% hand resistance, speed 5.0 and line of sight 12. Its hand attack deals 10 damage every 1.5 seconds, with a 3× bonus against Treasure guardians and a 0.1× modifier against Villagers. That profile makes Janey a specialist for clearing guarded map rewards, not a worker raider or ordinary frontline unit. Keep the pet alongside the War Chief or Explorer, scout the Treasure’s guardian strength and collect the reward once the area is safe. The 100-Food cost competes with early Villager production, so use the pet when the Treasure can repay the investment. Janey’s 90 hit points are limited; protect it from military units and withdraw after the guardian fight. Because the War Chief is the access source, the pet’s availability depends on the civilization and scenario rather than a standard production building.

Treasure guardian matchup

Janey’s hand attack deals 10 base damage, but its 3× multiplier against Treasure guardians makes it a useful support pet for Aztec exploration. It has only 90 hit points and deals just 0.1× damage to Villagers, so do not use it as a general raider. The 100-Food cost should be compared with the early economy, and the 16-second training time means the pet can join a planned expedition quickly. Keep the Aztec War Chief nearby, clear the guard and collect the Treasure before exposing Janey to normal troops.

Aztec pet availability

The Aztec War Chief is the listed access source for Janey, so the pet is tied to that civilization and its scenario rules. It does not come from a standard Barracks. Keep it with the hero, protect its 90 hit points and use the guardian multiplier during a Treasure encounter.

Pet limitations

Janey is a Treasure guardian specialist. The 3× bonus supports the Explorer, but the pet deals only 0.1× damage to Villagers and has 90 hit points.

Treasure planning

The War Chief and Janey can clear a Treasure together. Check guardian strength first and keep the pet safe while the Explorer claims the reward.

War Chief support

Janey’s 5.0 speed lets it accompany the Aztec War Chief during exploration. Keep the hero close while the pet attacks a Treasure guardian and pull both back if enemy troops arrive.

Treasure support, not raiding

Janey’s 3× guardian bonus is the reason to train it. Its very low Villager damage and 90 hit points make normal raiding a poor use of the pet.

Pet training, access and automatic growth

Janey is trained by the Aztec War Chief and can also arrive through Home City shipments of four or five Pet Jaguars, depending on the card. She costs 100 Food, takes 16 seconds to train and is limited to 12. The pet has 90 hit points, 10% hand resistance, speed five and sight 12. Its 10-damage hand attack fires every 1.5 seconds, with 3× damage against Treasure Guardians but only 0.1× against Villagers. Pets improve automatically as the game advances, gaining hit points and damage, so Janey can remain useful for Treasure support beyond the opening. Her target modifiers still define her role; the extra statistics do not turn her into a worker raider.

Use the pet to clear guarded Treasures

Pair Janey with the Aztec War Chief when approaching a Treasure. Let the Hero handle exploration and keep the pet on Guardians it can defeat efficiently, then collect the reward before exposing the group to another fight. Her low health makes her vulnerable to concentrated attacks, so pull back once the Treasure is secured. The pet’s low damage against Villagers means it should not accompany a raid as a primary attacker. If she arrives through a shipment, choose a safe rally point near the Explorer rather than sending her into a defended base. Janey occupies a specialized support role in the Aztec roster and should be valued for Treasure clearing and the additional body in a small engagement.
