Lake Chad
Lake Chad is a land Random Map from Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition – The African Royals. Players start on opposite shores of a large lake whose wet or dry seasonal state changes tactical options. Control of the lake matters, but there are no water shipment points, so Home City naval support is unavailable.

Seasonal lake & settlements
Berber, Sudanese and Yoruba settlements are listed, as are Desert Archer and Desert Warrior outlaws. The lake’s current state changes how players approach and control the center. A map containing water does not guarantee access to naval shipments; account for the specific water shipment restriction when choosing a plan.
Adapting to the map state
Scout the lake early and adapt to its seasonal state. Shoreline control and approaches affect who reaches the center, while a Native Trading Post provides a land-based objective. Its value depends on whether the army can protect the settlement and workers.
Practical direction
Check whether the lake is wet or dry before committing to a crossing or water strategy. Keep an alternative land route and do not build around unavailable naval shipments. Protect exposed Villagers and watch for outlaws on the approaches; re-evaluate movement as the map state changes.
