Function & construction

A Tavern Wagon or eligible worker can construct the Camp. Its recorded limit is four and its automatic Coin income is 0.24 per second. Available units depend on civilization, Age and game version; the Camp does not replace ordinary infantry production.

Placement & timing

Build it when a Mercenary or Outlaw fills a specific gap in the army and the Camp can remain safe long enough to contribute its passive income. Compare the high-cost special roster with regular units and avoid spending Coin needed for an Age advance or core production.

German roster, passive Coin and revolution limit

The Mercenary Camp is a German upgrade to the Tavern made available by the Mercenary Camps Home City Card in Knights of the Mediterranean. It costs 100 Wood, takes 22.5 seconds to construct, has 1,250 hit points in its listed profile and automatically gathers 0.24 Coin per second. The building guarantees access to Landsknechts, Jaegers, Giant Grenadiers, Black Riders and Pandours even when the map does not offer those Mercenaries. Its normal build limit is four; a German revolt to Argentina can unlock the Trattoria card, which ships three Tavern Wagons and raises the Mercenary Camp limit by two. The Camp has a smaller Coin trickle than a Tavern but costs less and can support a faster special-unit queue. Choose it when the roster fills a clear army role and you have Coin for the expensive units; passive income is a supplement, not a substitute for planning the cost of the force.

German mercenary production

The Mercenary Camp is a German military building available in the Fortress Age. It trains the civilization’s Outlaws and Mercenaries, giving Germany a dedicated route to special troops alongside its ordinary military production. It costs 100 Wood, can be built by a Settler or Tavern Wagon, takes about 22.5 seconds to construct and is limited to four. The Camp also generates Coin passively at 0.24 per second, which partially supports the expensive units it recruits without replacing the need for workers to gather resources.

When the Camp is useful

Use the Camp when its available roster answers a particular matchup or adds a role missing from the regular army. Its passive Coin accumulates over time, so an early, protected Camp can contribute more than one placed only shortly before a fight. The four-building limit means it can support several production points, but the Wood investment and unit prices still compete with the German economy’s other needs. Check the Camp’s age-gated roster before committing: availability is tied to Germany’s rules and the current scenario, and should not be assumed to match every civilization’s Tavern or mercenary access.
