Miner
Miner is a special-purpose unit listed from the Exploration Age, with a profile that combines a ranged attack and powerful siege damage. Despite its name, the entry’s recorded attacks describe a scenario combat or demolition role rather than ordinary resource gathering.

Role, availability & values
The Miner has 270 hit points and moves at 4.5 speed. Its ranged and siege attacks each deal 60 damage at 16 range every six seconds, with area of effect 5 on the ranged attack; its hand attack deals 20 damage every 1.5 seconds. Its availability and behavior depend on the scenario or roster that provides it.
Matchup & timing
Check the active mission or mode before assigning the Miner a role. Use its ranged siege profile against the targets specified by the scenario and keep it protected while it attacks. Do not count it as a standard Villager or assume it can gather Coin in ordinary matches.
Campaign bridge demolition and resource limits
Miners first appear in Act II: Ice, especially Bring Down the Mountain, where Ká:nien uses them to collapse ice columns and block passage through the Rockies. The campaign unit throws dynamite and swings a pickaxe; its listed attacks are 60 siege damage at range 16 every six seconds, a 60-damage ranged blast with five-unit area, and a 20-damage hand attack every 1.5 seconds. It has 270 hit points, 10% hand resistance and costs no population in the campaign profile. Miners are not ordinary Settlers: they can collect Coin from mines and Estates and can gather from Food crates, Coin chests and Wood cords, but they cannot be trained from normal buildings in the campaign. They also appear in Urgent News in Act II: Shadow, where they are shown mining Coin. The Scenario Editor includes other Miner variants with separate costs and abilities, so do not combine those profiles with the campaign unit. Their powerful siege damage can clear grouped infantry or structures, but Oprichniks and Great Cannons are dangerous threats in the campaign. Use them for the mission objective and keep them away from the units designed to punish civilians.
Scenario-editor variants
The Scenario Editor includes a separate Miner profile that can be trained at a Town Center, costs 100 Food and 100 Coin, occupies one population, and has its own five-unit limit. That variant gathers Coin quickly from mines and slowly from other Coin sources, unlike the campaign Miner described above. Keep those data sets separate when creating a custom scenario or reading the campaign unit’s 270-hit-point profile.
Mexican Coin gatherer
The Miner is a Mexican economic unit specialized in gathering Coin. The unit gathers from mines and other applicable Coin sources instead of functioning as a military troop. Its purpose is to let the Mexican economy meet the Coin demands of units, technologies and age advancement while other workers cover Food and Wood. Miners are part of the Mexican roster and should not be confused with the standard Settler profiles of other civilizations; their access, costs and gathering rules depend on the Mexican game mode and version.
Balance Coin income with other resources
Assign Miners to safe deposits and maintain enough Food and Wood gathering to keep production moving. A Coin-heavy economy can fund cavalry or technologies but may leave the Town Center unable to sustain workers or the Barracks short of construction resources. Protect the mining area from raids and relocate workers when a deposit is exhausted or contested. Use the Mexican economic buildings and upgrades available in the current ruleset to improve the resource plan, and check the unit’s in-game gather rate before relying on precise build-order timings.
