Mission Fervor

Mission Fervor is a Commerce Age technology introduced in The WarChiefs and available through religious buildings whose access depends on civilization. It improves healing units and has separate rules for Inquisitors, Abuns and the Italian Priest shipment. Those differences matter because the generic healer bonus does not describe every civilization’s effect.

Effect

Research takes 15 seconds and currently costs 125 Food and 125 Wood; African civilizations also pay 225 Influence. Healing units generally train 50% faster, gain 50% hit points and heal 50% faster. Inquisitors instead receive 35% more hit points and train 35% faster. Abuns receive a 150% healing-work-rate bonus under the current patch rule. For Italians, the Basilica delivery time of the three-Priest shipment is reduced by 50%. Earlier versions used different costs and healer bonuses.

Research condition

Commerce Age; Church for Ethiopians and eligible Europeans, Mosque for Hausa and Ottomans, Basilica for Italians; 15 seconds; 125 Food, 125 Wood and 225 Influence for Africans. General healing units: train time -50%, hit points +50%, healing rate +50%; Inquisitors: train time -35%, hit points +35%; Abuns: healing rate +150%; Italian three-Priest shipment arrival time -50%.

Research decision

Research it when the relevant healer or Italian Priest shipment is part of the plan and the support unit will remain useful long enough to repay the cost. The bonus can improve both availability and battlefield support, but the exact outcome depends on which healing unit is affected. Check civilization-specific access and apply the Inquisitor and Abun figures instead of the general values.

Civilization-specific effects

The general healer effect does not replace the separate Inquisitor rule: Inquisitors receive 35% more hit points and train 35% faster. Abuns use the current 150% healing-work-rate value. For Italians, research also halves the arrival time of the three-Priest Basilica shipment. Consider which of these effects the chosen civilization can actually use.

Definitive Edition values changed over time

Earlier source values list a 35% healer hit-point increase and a 100% Abun healing-rate bonus; those values were superseded by later updates. The current figures are 50% healer hit points and 150% for Abun healing work rate. Historical pages should keep the earlier values labeled by patch rather than mixing them into the current profile.
