Wetland layout & settlements

Players may remain on their starting dry ground or expand through the marsh. The Sudanese are the listed Minor civilization, and Desert Archer and Desert Warrior are the listed outlaws. Check the crossings and distances before placing a forward base or Trading Post.

Expanding from the islands

The map presents a choice between a protected start and a contested central expansion. Secure local resources, then judge whether the Trade Route and islands can be held. A Sudanese alliance may fit the army plan, but its site can expose builders if the route is not defended.

Practical direction

Scout dry approaches, the short Trade Route and the central islands before moving Villagers. Keep a retreat path to the home island and reinforce the side you choose to contest. Do not assume the swamp blocks every approach.
