Function & construction
The completion reward can support the economy through workers or building wagons, or provide Export for Consulate purchases. The Temple’s Shaolin Master healing function adds a continuing army-support role after the age-up.
Placement & timing
Choose the reward that fills the largest immediate gap: more workers for a growing economy, a Rickshaw when the corresponding building is needed, or Export for an allied purchase. Use the healing ability when Shaolin Masters are supporting an active force.
Age reward by version
The completion reward changed across editions. In The Asian Dynasties the Temple grants six Villagers when reaching the Fortress Age, ten for the Industrial Age and twenty for the Imperial Age. Definitive Edition update 20322 changed the latter rewards to nine and eleven Villagers. Update 61213 then added building-specific rewards: one Town Rickshaw for a Fortress Age advance, three Rice Paddy Rickshaws for an Industrial Age advance and 1,200 Export for an Imperial Age advance. The Wonder’s Transcendence ability heals friendly units; later updates capped the heal at 100 hit points per unit and fixed a brief invulnerability issue. Choose the current age-up reward based on whether the Chinese economy needs workers, a building wagon or Export for the Consulate.
Transcendence and age-up choice
Transcendence lets Shaolin Masters heal friendly units through the Temple of Heaven’s special function. The ability now heals each unit once, with a 100-hit-point cap per unit; a Definitive Edition update fixed an earlier issue that briefly made some units effectively invulnerable. The Temple can provide workers in older versions or building wagons and Export in current content, so the right reward depends on the active release and Age. Use the healing effect when a damaged army is grouped together, and choose the age-up shipment that answers the largest current need rather than selecting the same reward every time.
Shaolin healing and reward choice
The Transcendence effect restores friendly units once, up to 100 hit points per unit. Use it when a damaged force is assembled so the one-time healing affects valuable survivors. The age-up reward then fills a separate need: the Town Rickshaw or Rice Paddy Rickshaws establish buildings, while 1,200 Export supports Consulate access. Compare those options with the older Villager rewards only when the matching game version is active.
Chinese Wonder reward options
The Temple of Heaven is a Chinese Wonder that advances the civilization and provides one of several rewards: Villagers, Town Rickshaws, Rice Paddy Rickshaws or Export. It also allows Shaolin Masters to heal friendly units after construction. The Wonder has 5,000 hit points and a 7-by-5 footprint, so reserve room and protect the builders. Its rewards support different plans: workers expand the economy, Rickshaws establish buildings, and Export supports Consulate purchases.
Choose the reward that fits the next age
Select the completion reward based on the immediate bottleneck. More Villagers help a growing economy, a Town Rickshaw or Rice Paddy Rickshaw supports a specific building need, and Export is useful when the Consulate can spend it effectively. Shaolin Master healing adds continuing army support, but it does not replace combat units. Keep population and production ready for the age-up window, and protect the Temple so the reward can arrive. Compare it with other Chinese Wonders if military reinforcements or siege are more urgent.
