Overview

A Barbarian Betrothal lets the Huns expand rapidly without Houses, but Frankish attacks grow stronger over time. Settle north of the starting point and south of the river, where resources and uneven terrain support both a boom and a defensive Castle.

Plan and execution

Use the extra population space to train Villagers quickly and establish food, gold, and stone near the river. Place a Castle north or northwest of the Town Center, then add a University and Blacksmith for its defenses. Patch gaps between woods with Palisade Walls so attackers funnel toward the Castle, and build a Market for the incoming Burgundian request. Add Barracks, Ranges, and Stables for a mixed low-cost army once the core economy is secure.

Risks and adaptation

Frankish attacks intensify with time, so do not spend the opening on a distant raid. Stone is needed for the Castle network, and the Palisade funnel only works if its gaps direct enemies toward a defended firing lane.
