Role, availability & values

It has 850 hit points. It moves at 5.0 speed. Attack profile: Hand attack deals 14 damage. Ranged attack deals 16 damage. Siege attack deals 14 damage. Special ability or role: Claims treasures; Builds Trading Posts; Regeneration. If reduced to zero hit points, it collapses rather than dying; after regenerating 100 hit points, a friendly unit or building nearby can revive it.

Matchup & timing

Amelia’s campaign role combines Explorer duties with Trading Post construction and hero recovery. Use the available route to establish map control when it advances the objective, then keep her with the force rather than sending her alone through a cold or guarded approach. Her United States campaign profile is separate from the selectable United States civilization.

Explorer and campaign hero

Amelia Black is a United States campaign hero with 850 hit points, 40% hand resistance, speed 5 and line of sight 24. Her hand attack deals 14 damage, ranged attack 16 at range 16 and siege attack 14. She can claim Treasures, build Trading Posts and regenerate health. The Trading Post ability makes her useful for early map control: scout the route, choose a post that can be defended and avoid leaving her exposed during construction. The ranged attack lets her support a fight without immediately entering melee, while her high health helps with Treasure guardians that are within her ability. If Amelia reaches zero hit points, she collapses rather than dying. A friendly unit or building can revive her after she regenerates 100 health, so protect the recovery site and do not abandon the hero. Campaign missions may impose special objectives or pair her with Ká:nien and other units, so read the scenario briefing before taking a long detour. Amelia appears in Act III: Steel and in Journey Through the Andes, where cold and route hazards affect the force. Her hero value is long-term scouting and mission continuity, not simply damage in one fight. Use her line of sight to find safe paths, build Trading Posts when worthwhile and withdraw between engagements to recover.

Trading Posts and hero recovery

Amelia’s early value is exploration, Treasure support and Trading Post construction. With 850 hit points, 40% hand resistance and line of sight 24, she can scout a route and identify which post is worth securing. The 16-damage ranged attack gives her a way to contribute from range; use the 14-damage hand and siege attacks only when the situation supports them. If Amelia reaches zero health, she collapses and can be revived after regenerating 100 hit points near a friendly unit or building. Keep a defender close during recovery, especially in scenarios where the hero must survive to reach the next objective. Her campaign role in Act III and Journey Through the Andes differs from a standard trainable unit; map hazards and mission rules affect how long she can remain in the field. Do not trade the hero’s future scouting for a marginal Treasure or an unnecessary fight.

Hero recovery in cold scenarios

In Journey Through the Andes, Amelia’s force takes environmental damage along the mountain route and must use campfires or shelter conditions to recover. The ordinary hero regeneration and collapse rules still matter, but the mission terrain determines where the force can safely wait.

Explorer continuity

Use Amelia’s line of sight to reveal the next route before moving campaign units. If she collapses, protect the recovery point until she revives; the hero’s Trading Post and Treasure abilities remain useful through later missions.

Mission-specific utility

Trading Posts can add route value, but the campaign objective should guide their placement. Use Amelia’s vision to scout each route and keep a friendly unit nearby if she has to recover after a fight.

Using the ranged attack

Amelia’s 16-damage ranged attack at range 16 lets her support the army while maintaining distance. Use the hero’s line of sight to find the next route and withdraw if its health falls.

Trading Post timing

Amelia’s Trading Post ability can support experience and map control, but a forward post needs protection. Scout first and build only when the starting force can defend the site.

Act III: Steel and the Black family story

Amelia is the playable protagonist of Act III: Steel and inherits the Falcon Company after Nathaniel Black’s death. The company is nearly bankrupt, and she is laying railway lines for the United States Army under Major Cooper when a Mexican attack brings her into contact with Pierre Beaumont. Beaumont poses as a French prospector seeking help at his mine, but is actually the leader of the Circle of Ossus, an old enemy of the Black family. Ká:nien saves Amelia from the trap, and she pursues the Circle through the campaign. This story carries the Black family narrative from Morgan and John Black into a later generation; Amelia is Nathaniel’s daughter and Chayton’s mother. Her hero abilities support exploration and map objectives, while the campaign itself also uses scripted armies and mission-specific rules that should not be confused with a normal United States skirmish profile.
