Role, availability & values

The unit costs 90 Wood in its recorded profile and has 90 hit points, 10% hand resistance, 4.5 speed and 26 Line of Sight. Its ranged attack deals 9 damage at range 20 every 1.5 seconds; the hand attack deals 5 damage and siege attack 10. Later updates classify it as light infantry and a foot archer rather than a shock troop, so its current counter role should be read from that classification.

Matchup & timing

As an enemy, its long range lets it fire from behind other Cherokee troops; close the distance with a protected force rather than sending fragile units into repeated volleys. In the campaign it appears in the opening stages of the Brunswick conflict, where John Black and Ká:nien must defend the colony. The scenario roster is scripted, so do not use its profile cost as evidence that a standard Native alliance can train it.

Position the fragile ranged unit

The Archer’s 20-range attack and 4.5 speed let it fire from a distance and reposition, but 90 hit points make it a poor frontline. Use its low-Wood access to support an army that can screen it, and keep it away from melee cavalry. Cherokee recruitment depends on settlement or Native alliance access, so its availability is map-dependent rather than a universal Barracks option.

A long-range campaign archer with a changed class tag

Cherokee Archer is a scenario unit, and its classification changed over the game’s update history. Earlier data tagged it as a shock troop; a later update changed it to light infantry and foot archer. That distinction affects which unit counters apply, so use the current class when assessing its matchup rather than assuming it shares the role of every Cherokee campaign fighter.
