Cherokee
Cherokee is an Age of Empires III minor civilization from North America. It appears on maps including Bayou, Carolina, New England, Ozarks. Players can establish an alliance at its settlement to access its local units and research.

Settlement & allied options
A Trading Post at the settlement unlocks the alliance. Inca players use a Tambo for the same purpose. The listed allied roster includes Cherokee Rifleman. Its settlement offers these technologies: Cherokee War Dance, Sequoyah's Cherokee Syllabary, Cherokee Basket Weaving. The available roster and technologies can vary with the selected map and release.
When to ally
Scout the map for a Cherokee settlement before spending resources on an alliance. Use it when the listed unit or technology fills a need in the army or economy, and protect the Trading Post that provides access.
Rifleman matchup and combat values
The Cherokee Rifleman is Commerce Age ranged infantry with 230 hit points, 10% ranged resistance and 4.0 speed. It costs 60 Food and 60 Wood and trains in 30 seconds. Its 13-damage ranged attack reaches up to 16; it receives bonuses against Light ranged cavalry, Ranged shock troopers and Heavy infantry, but deals reduced damage to Cavalry and Shock troops. Use the range and matchup bonuses to support a mixed army rather than sending the Riflemen into the units that counter their attack profile.
Economic and military technology choices
Sequoyah’s Cherokee Syllabary costs 200 Wood and 200 Coin, takes 60 seconds and delivers four Settlers, turning the settlement into an economic investment. Cherokee Basket Weaving costs 100 Food and 100 Coin and researches in 10 seconds: it removes Wood costs from a broad set of economic technologies and halves Wood costs for six African Field upgrades. Cherokee War Dance costs 200 Wood and 200 Coin, takes 60 seconds and increases Native warrior speed by 20%. Choose between immediate workers, cheaper upgrade chains or faster allied warriors according to the match plan.
Settlement access and protection
Cherokee settlements are listed on Bayou, Carolina, New England and Ozarks. A Trading Post, or an Inca Tambo, unlocks the alliance and its research; the Native Embassy is also listed as a Rifleman training route. Because the technologies require the settlement connection, scout its position and protect the post before committing resources or relying on the allied roster.
