Function & construction

Dojo is built by a Sohei Archer or Dojo Rickshaw and costs 200 Wood and 400 Coin. The normal build limit is zero unless Home City Cards increase it, so plan around the card access that permits one; it has 2,500 hit points.

Placement & timing

Use a Dojo when the card access and long-term resource supply support its automatic army production. Protect it as a valuable production site, and make sure its output complements the units you are actively controlling.

Automatic army options and production timing

The Japanese Dojo operates continuously after it is established and lets the player choose a unit group or an Experience option rather than manually queuing each soldier. In the default roster, five Yumi Archers arrive after 134 seconds, five Ashigaru Musketeers after 148 seconds, three Samurai after 154 seconds, three Naginata Riders after 154 seconds, and three Yabusame Archers after 170 seconds. Meiji Restoration changes the available groups, including five Meiji Riflemen in 134 seconds, five Meiji Musketeers in 148 seconds, and three Meiji Grenadiers in 154 seconds. The Dojo’s output is automatic and does not charge the ordinary unit resources, so the building’s value is the sustained stream of reinforcements rather than a cheap one-time batch. It is a Home City-dependent building: two Dojos is the maximum, and its construction or shipment access comes through the relevant Dojo cards and Rickshaw. Protect it and set its option to match the army’s current need; unattended production can otherwise deliver a force that is ill-suited to the opponent.

Industrial Age spawn-time research

Kamidana costs 300 Food and 300 Coin and takes 30 seconds to research at a Dojo in the Industrial Age. It reduces unit spawn time by 20%, shortening the wait for each selected group; it does not deliver an extra army immediately or change the units’ combat statistics. Research it when the Dojo is likely to remain active long enough for repeated deliveries, and leave population space for those reinforcements. If the building is idle, under attack or blocked by population, the faster interval cannot provide its full value.
