Fort Wagon (shipment)

Fort Wagon is a Consulate or National Government technology that sends one wagon for building a Fort. Chinese players can research it through Russian Allies in the Fortress Age. The saved game data also lists an Act III: India-only version and a Japanese Imperial Age route through Meiji Restoration; the Japanese variant has its own lower Export cost.

Fort construction shipment

The Chinese and Act III: India variants are listed at the Consulate for 600 Export and 30 seconds of research. The Japanese version is listed under the National Government after Meiji Restoration, in the Imperial Age, for 400 Export and the same 30 seconds. The reward is a Fort Wagon rather than a completed Fort at the research site: move it to the position you want to defend and unpack it there. Because the structure is fixed once placed, its approach route, nearby resources and protection by the field army matter.

Forward defense

Use the wagon when a durable forward base can protect a route, objective or resource zone and the army can hold the position while the Fort is established. A Fort placed too far ahead can be isolated and lost; a safer location may still support reinforcements and defensive control. Chinese players should compare its Fortress Age timing with the match’s immediate needs, while Japan must account for the later Meiji Restoration access. In Act III: India, rely on the scenario’s actual research menu.

A durable but slower forward constructor

Fort Wagon has 500 hit points, speed 3.5, line of sight 18 and 20% siege resistance. It constructs the Fort at three times the ordinary rate, but its lower movement speed makes the approach slower than most construction wagons. Choose the position before researching: the Fort is fixed once deployed, and the wagon must survive the trip to the chosen site. Keep the army close enough to defend the construction window, especially when using the Chinese Fortress Age route. The Japanese Meiji Restoration route arrives later and has a separate National Government cost and prerequisite.
