Function & construction

The Japanese construct Torii Gates as their selected age-up Wonder. Samurai arrive through the Wonder reward, while the Military Rickshaw provides the listed construction support. This one-time reward is distinct from ordinary unit production and does not remove the need for a suitable army composition.

Placement & timing

Choose it when Samurai can strengthen the planned engagement and the Rickshaw has a useful destination. Protect the Samurai from ranged counters and escort the Rickshaw to the production or support site it should establish. Compare the reward with other Japanese Wonders if the army needs economy or a different tactical tool.

Age-up rewards and experience economy

Torii Gates is the Japanese Wonder selected for an Age advance. On completion it provides Samurai and a Military Rickshaw; the rickshaw can become a Barracks or Stable, adding a production site without the standard Wood cost. Its Kami Worship benefit improves Experience income from the base trickle, unit training, construction, and defeating enemy units or buildings. That reward continues to matter after the initial Samurai shipment because it accelerates future Home City shipments. Use the Samurai to strengthen the next engagement and place the Rickshaw where a new production queue will remain useful. The Wonder is a once-per-age-up selection, so compare its immediate combat force and long-term Experience benefit with other Japanese Wonders before choosing it. Guard the completed structure and use the extra Experience flow to plan the next shipment rather than treating the reward as a one-off unit drop.

Japanese Wonder and Samurai reward

Torii Gates is a Japanese Wonder selected during an age advance. Completing it advances the player, sends Samurai and provides a Military Rickshaw according to the recorded reward. Samurai add a heavy melee force, while the Rickshaw can establish a useful building without its normal cost. The Wonder has 5,000 hit points and a 6-by-4 footprint, so reserve space before starting construction. The reward arrives through the Wonder rather than an ordinary production queue.

Protect the age-up reward

Choose Torii Gates when the Samurai strengthen the planned fight and the Rickshaw has a safe destination. Samurai need protection from ranged counters, while a Military Rickshaw should be escorted until its building is complete. Keep population space for the incoming force and maintain production during the construction window. Compare the reward with the other Japanese Wonders if the army needs resources or a different tactical tool. Protect the Wonder itself so the age-up can finish and deliver its reward.
