Role, availability & values

Settlers hunt Turkey and gather Food from the carcass; the recorded data supports up to eight gatherers. It is wildlife, not a Livestock Pen animal that can be produced or fattened through ordinary livestock systems. Map placement determines the route and safety.

Matchup & timing

Use nearby Turkey for early Food while the flock and gathering area are safe. Scout another source before the carcass is depleted, and protect workers if they must gather far from the Town Center.

Food yield, map appearances and special scenarios

A Turkey is a neutral huntable animal rather than a trainable livestock unit. The recorded Age III profile gives it 20 hit points, 2.0 speed, 18 line of sight and 400 Food, with space for up to eight gatherers at its carcass. The Wiki also preserves an older descriptive note that calls out ten hit points, so the 20-point profile should be read with the listed game version in mind rather than treated as a universal value for every release. Turkey flocks are listed on Carolina, Bayou, Ozarks, Hispaniola, Yucatán, Orinoco and Amazonia. Their value is strongest early, when a nearby carcass can sustain Villagers without the setup time of a Mill; because the Food is finite and the flock may sit away from the Town Center, scout its surroundings before assigning a large group. Plymouth is a special case: each player starts with an Intrepid Turkey Scout, a non-attacking scout unit. If it dies, it becomes a Delicious Feast worth 100 Food. This scenario unit is distinct from ordinary wild Turkeys.
