Overview

Begin with a limited army defending engineers outside Stirling, then use the Warwolf trebuchet to break the siege front. Capture Stirling to gain English forces and resources, and prepare for Robert the Bruce’s betrayal; eliminating Wallace can remove one enemy army early.

Player approach

Hammer of the Scots gives you a limited window to defeat William Wallace before Robert the Bruce betrays you. Use the hero Trebuchet and its area damage to open a route and remove Wallace early.

Step-by-step plan

Protect the engineers while they gather the starting wood and stone, then research Warwolf when the scenario requests it and take control of the hero Trebuchet. Move the army south before Bruce’s betrayal and use attack-ground shots to clear the barricade and Guard Towers protecting Wallace. Focus the Wallace force quickly so his faction resigns, leaving only one opponent to manage. Keep ranged and cavalry support near the Trebuchet while it attacks.

Risks and adjustments

The betrayal adds a second active enemy, so delaying the Wallace strike can turn a manageable fight into a two-front defense. Warwolf’s area damage can hit allied units; keep the army clear of the Trebuchet’s impact zone.
