Overview
Develop a compact English foothold while under repeated pressure from Berwick, then seize the fortified town before the Scottish army advances. Control the river crossing and capture the Stone of Scone for a major optional blow to Scottish morale.
Player approach
Toom Tabard gives a thirty-minute warning before the Scottish Army attacks, but the Berwick Garrison raids much earlier. Boom with multiple Town Centers and build Castles before the first major raid.
Step-by-step plan
Scout settlement locations and place several Town Centers, assigning new Villagers to Sheep and core resources. Build Castles to stop the Berwick Garrison’s raids and aim to have the first ready before its roughly fifteen-minute assault. Use a full Longbowman garrison to strengthen a key Castle, then advance toward Imperial Age before the Scottish army begins its offensive.
Risks and adjustments
A single Castle may fall to a large raid even with Murder Holes. Keep a mobile force to handle Crossbowmen and Scorpions, and avoid waiting for the thirty-minute timer to begin fortifying.
