Artificial Fertilizer
Artificial Fertilizer is a later upgrade for renewable Food gathering. It increases Villager collection from Mills, Farms, Rice Paddies, Fields and Haciendas by 30%, and raises Hacienda Food auto-gather by 30%.

Effect
It continues the Seed Drill line and affects the same farm-like sources. Haciendas receive both the stated Villager gathering benefit and the separate auto-gather improvement; other buildings receive the gathering effect when workers use them.
Research condition
Available in the Fortress Age at Mill, Hacienda; requires Seed Drill. Research time: 30 seconds. Cost: 335 wood, 335 coin. Civilization-specific building access can vary.
Research decision
Research when renewable Food production is established and will continue for a substantial part of the match. Check whether the affected buildings are already active before committing resources that could fund units or Coin production.
Renewable Food upgrades and exact scope
Artificial Fertilizer is the Fortress Age step after Seed Drill, researched at a Mill or Hacienda for 335 Wood and 335 Coin over 30 seconds in the recorded profile. It improves Villager Food gathering by 30% from Mills, Farms, Rice Paddies, Fields and Haciendas. Hacienda Food auto-gather receives its own 30% increase as well. That second effect is specific to the Hacienda’s automatic production; it should not be applied to a Mill or to non-Food Hacienda production.
Invest after the economy has shifted to farms
The upgrade is most valuable once workers are gathering from renewable Food sources and will remain there long enough to repay the cost. A player still relying on Hunts may benefit more from immediate units or a different resource upgrade. Seed Drill must be completed first, so include its earlier cost and research time in the plan. On a Hacienda economy, both the worker gathering bonus and the passive Food rate can contribute, but the building must remain available and protected.
