Chinese Mercenary Force
Chinese Mercenary Force is a Fortress Age reinforcement choice at the Chinese Consulate in Age of Empires III: The Asian Dynasties and Definitive Edition. It delivers eight Iron Troops together as a foreign-unit company rather than adding an ordinary Chinese Barracks queue.

Role, availability & values
The company takes 40 seconds to arrive and commits 16 population; its shipment grants 80 Experience. The delivered eight Iron Troops are the combat units, so their individual attacks and durability are listed on the Iron Troop page. Access depends on the Chinese Consulate’s available roster and the Export economy that funds diplomatic choices.

Matchup & timing
Choose the company when the Iron Troop profile fills a real gap in the army and the match can absorb sixteen population at once. The group can strengthen a push or provide a large block of reinforcements, but the population commitment leaves less space for other units. Keep the arriving force with support and plan the next production cycle before ordering another expensive company.
Plan around the whole package
The Consulate option is a bundle: the player is choosing eight Iron Troops, their timing and the population they occupy together. That differs from training a single mercenary or adding a small number of units to an existing queue. Compare the 40-second arrival with the opponent’s expected timing, then make sure the army can protect the reinforcements once they reach the field. The Iron Troop entry gives their combat profile; this entry explains the company-level decision.
Campaign-only Fortress Age company
This force is available only in Act II: China, where the Chinese player can choose Chinese Mercenaries at the Consulate. From the Fortress Age, the eight Iron Troops cost 800 Export, take 40 seconds and use 16 population. It is not a standard skirmish or multiplayer Chinese roster choice.
Plan around the mission
Eight Iron Troops add a substantial single-type group, so determine whether the scenario’s opposition makes that role valuable before committing Export and population. Keep the company supported against threats outside its unit role and factor the 40-second delay into the objective timing. The Commerce Age Chinese Mercenary Company is a separate three-Manchu campaign option.
