Duber the Pet Monkey

Duber the Pet Monkey is a special pet unit associated with The Asian Dynasties and Definitive Edition. The recorded production access is a Battleship. Duber has 90 hit points, moves at 5.0 speed, costs 25 Food and takes 10 seconds to train. Its hand attack deals 6 damage, with a 3.0 multiplier against Treasure guardians and a 0.1 multiplier against Villagers. It is therefore a low-health specialist whose value is tied to the guardian matchup and the unusual source that provides it.

Role, availability & values

Use Duber as support against a Treasure guardian when a Battleship and the relevant scenario rules grant access. Keep it close enough to contribute, but do not expect it to absorb attacks: 90 hit points leave it vulnerable to focused damage. Its guardian bonus does not mean it is strong against ordinary armies, and its reduced Villager damage makes it unsuitable for worker hunting.

Training & availability

The Asian Dynasties; produced by a Battleship where available; 90 hit points; 5.0 speed; costs 25 Food; 10-second training time; 6 hand damage; 3.0x vs Treasure guardian and 0.1x vs Villager.

Matchup & timing

Train it when the small Food cost and guardian damage help complete a Treasure objective. Verify that the Battleship can produce it in the current game mode, since this access is not a universal land production option. Keep the Explorer or other eligible hero ready to collect the reward after combat.

Treasure access and pet progression

Duber appears on some versions of Silk Road and on Himalayas, Kamchatka and Siberia, usually as an unguarded Treasure reward. Its base profile has only 90 hit points and 6 hand damage, with 10% hand resistance and 5.0 speed. The important modifier is 3.0× against Treasure guardians; against Villagers it deals only 0.1× damage. It costs 25 Food and trains in 10 seconds when Haiti access is available through the Brethren of the Coast shipment at a Battleship. Its limit is 12, and it yields three XP for training or death. The small Food price does not make it a durable frontline unit. Bring it to a Treasure site with the Explorer, let its guardian multiplier do its specialized work, then withdraw it from ordinary combat.

Map appearances and combat use

Duber is found much more often than Freitag the Pet Macaque: the listed maps are Himalayas, Kamchatka, Siberia and some Silk Road generations. These are unguarded Treasure rewards, so the Explorer can recruit the pet without first defeating a guardian at the spawn. The monkey then provides a 3× guardian bonus for later sites. Its small base health pool of 90 means this follow-up role should remain limited to the guardian matchups it is designed for. Its age scaling and stealth vision in Definitive Edition improve support potential, but neither makes it a durable military unit.

Treasure guardian specialist

Duber the Pet Monkey is a special pet that may be trained by a Battleship in The Asian Dynasties and Definitive Edition contexts where the scenario permits it. Its six-damage hand attack has a 3× bonus against Treasure guardians, but only 90 hit points and a 0.1× modifier against Villagers. Use it as a small helper when clearing a manageable guardian, not as an army unit or raider. Keep the Explorer close enough to claim the reward and have other troops ready if the encounter is larger than expected.

Conditional naval access and cost

Duber costs 25 Food and takes 10 seconds to train, making it inexpensive when the Battleship route is available. That access is unusual and not a universal land production option, so verify the mode and scenario before planning around it. Its five speed and 12 line of sight help it accompany exploration, but its low health means focused attacks can remove it quickly. Train it when a Treasure objective justifies the Food and keep it near the fleet or expedition. Do not leave it idle under fire after the guardian has been cleared.
