Effect

Research takes 30 seconds and costs 185 Food and 150 Wood. It raises Coin gathering from Mines, Mountain Monasteries, Estates and listed Coin-producing Farms by 10%; Hacienda Coin auto-gather also rises by 10%. It does not improve every source of Coin. Access depends on the civilization’s building roster, and the upgrade is a prerequisite for the stronger Earth Gift Ceremony.

Research condition

Commerce Age at an Estate; 185 Food and 150 Wood; 30-second research. Civilization-specific building access can vary.

Research decision

Research it when Villagers or automatic buildings are already using the affected sources and Coin income will continue into the next Age. The 10% bonus is spread across several eligible sources, so count the actual economy rather than assuming all Coin gathering improves. If resources are needed for an immediate army, weigh this delayed return against production first.

Check the source before valuing the bonus

Earth Ceremony applies to a defined set of estate and mining sources; it is not a universal Coin-gathering technology. A player relying mainly on another source may receive less value than the headline percentage suggests. Its prerequisite role also matters: researching it can unlock a later upgrade, so consider both the present 10% increase and the planned technology path when choosing the timing.
