Improved Cannon Trade
Improved Cannon Trade is an Industrial Age African technology at the Town Center or Palace, requiring Imported Cannons. It changes the costs of listed artillery—Falconets, Culverins, Mortars, Napoleon Guns, Li’l Bombards, Gatling Camels, Heavy Cannons and Sebastopol Mortars—so their purchases use a split of Influence and Coin.

Effect & research conditions
Research costs 250 Influence and takes 20 seconds. The effect is a resource-payment change for the listed artillery, not a damage or health upgrade. Check the active unit cost after research to see the exact Influence and Coin split before queueing guns. The prerequisite and listed building access are specific to the African ruleset.
Research condition
Available to Africans from the Industrial Age. Research it at Town Center or Palace. It requires Imported Cannons.
When to research
Research when the army intends to train several of the affected artillery units and Influence is available to substitute for some Coin. If the plan uses different artillery or the economy is short on Influence, the technology may not ease the bottleneck. Complete Imported Cannons first and compare the revised prices with the units needed for the next engagement.
A cost conversion rather than an artillery stat bonus
Improved Cannon Trade does not make a gun hit harder or survive longer. It changes how the listed artillery is paid for, splitting cost between Influence and Coin. This can help an African economy whose Influence is plentiful but Coin is constrained, but it may create a new Influence demand if several guns are queued. Inspect the current costs after research and budget both resources before placing the production order.
