Scenario setting & objectives

Establish a Town Center, then build Trading Posts on the saltpeter sites and along the Trade Route. These goals spread the force across different parts of the map, so the order of construction and safe worker movement matter. A Sacred Field is optional and can add support if the economy can spare the investment.

Mission approach

Secure the Town Center position first, scout the saltpeter sites and route, then build posts in an order your army can defend. Keep workers close to an escort while crossing contested ground; do not leave the base exposed just to claim every objective at once.

Saltpeter sites and Trade Route

Into the Punjab opens Act III: India in The Asian Dynasties campaign. Set in 1857 before the wider Sepoy Rebellion, it follows Nanib Sahir, a Company officer tasked with protecting British interests as distrust grows among Indian soldiers. The required objectives are to establish a Town Center and build Trading Posts on saltpeter sites and along the Trade Route. A Sacred Field is optional. These goals spread workers across the map, so secure a base first, scout the locations and move builders with an escort. Claim the closest saltpeter site before sending workers toward the Trade Route, and avoid leaving the Town Center undefended while posts are under construction. The optional Sacred Field can add support but should not delay required sites or place workers in danger. Trade Route posts create map control beyond the immediate objective, so protect them after construction. Follow the objective panel to confirm the Town Center and each site are counted. The mission is part of the Indian campaign and should be read separately from standard Indian strategy because the scenario imposes scripted goals and a historical story setup.

Base before remote posts

The Town Center gives the player a stable production point before workers move to saltpeter and the Trade Route. Assign escorts to builders and claim nearby sites in a sequence the army can defend. Saltpeter posts are required; the Sacred Field is optional and should not draw too many units away. The mission’s 1857 setting and Nanib Sahir’s role lead into the wider Act III: India story, but the immediate objectives are economic and territorial. Protect completed Trading Posts because losing them can disrupt progress and map control.

Saltpeter and Trade Route sequence

The mission spreads required Trading Posts across saltpeter locations and the Trade Route. Scout all sites, claim the nearest saltpeter point with an escort and continue toward the route without abandoning the base. A Sacred Field is optional and should be built only if it does not delay the required posts. Since the story is set before the wider Sepoy Rebellion, the mission’s tension between Company authority and Indian soldiers is reflected in the objectives, but the player should follow the exact objective tracker for victory.

Required Trading Posts

The saltpeter sites and Trade Route posts are required. Secure the Town Center first, then escort builders between sites and protect each completed post.

Optional Sacred Field

The Sacred Field can be built for additional support, but it is optional. Complete the Town Center, saltpeter Trading Posts and Trade Route objective first if resources or workers are limited.

Opening force and objective rewards

The mission begins with Nanib Sahir, Colonel Edwardson, a Town Rickshaw and a small Sepoy force. The Rickshaw is the starting answer to the primary Town Center objective; completing it reveals the optional Sacred Field task, while the saltpeter-site Trading Posts become the next major requirement. The objectives award 500 Experience for the Town Center, 1,000 for the saltpeter sites, 1,000 for the Trade Route posts and 500 for the optional Sacred Field. Indian Mutineers appear in large numbers, so the starting Sepoys and named characters should protect the builders instead of being sent away from the construction route. Establish the base, use it to stabilize production, then move workers with an escort between the resource sites and the route. The optional field is valuable when the defense can spare the time, but completing every remote task at once can leave the new settlement open to attack.
