Jacobite Rising

Jacobite Rising is a Fortress Age technology associated with the House of Stuart in The Baltic Powers. It is researched at a Trading Post or Tambo built on a House of Stuart palace. The technology converts the player’s existing building network into a mixed reinforcement package: different building groups call in Highlanders, Gallowglasses, Bagpipers, Clansmen and Lowlanders.

Effect & research conditions

Research takes 30 seconds and costs 1,000 Food, 1,000 Wood and 1,000 Coin. At completion, each Town Center, Heavy Fortification and Wonder provides one Highlander, with caps of eight, eight and five respectively. Barracks, Stables, other Barracks, Artillery Foundries and Castles each provide one Gallowglass, capped at eight per listed category. Farms, Estates and Haciendas provide one Bagpiper each, up to ten per category. Trading Posts, Houses and Shrines provide one Clansman each, up to eight per category. Docks, Ports, Churches and the remaining listed economic or military buildings provide Lowlanders, with the source-specific caps of eight or four.

Research condition

Fortress Age; Trading Post or Tambo on a House of Stuart palace; 30 seconds; 1,000 Food, 1,000 Wood and 1,000 Coin; delivers units according to existing building categories with category-specific caps.

When to research

It is most useful after the relevant buildings are already in place and the army can absorb a large, mixed delivery. Check the detailed building categories and per-category caps before researching; extra buildings above a category cap do not add more units. Reserve population and a safe rally point, since this is a large investment followed by a delayed arrival rather than an immediate emergency response.

Five unit deliveries cover different infrastructure

The Highlander reward is connected to Town Centers, Heavy Fortifications and Wonders. Gallowglasses come from listed military production and defensive structures; Bagpipers from Farms, Estates and Haciendas; Clansmen from Trading Posts, Houses and Shrines; and Lowlanders from Docks, Ports, Churches and the additional categories listed in the technology effect. The composition reflects the buildings already established rather than a single selectable unit type.

Each building category has its own cap

The limits differ by category: some count up to eight structures, some up to ten, and certain structures such as Wonders or Field Hospitals have smaller caps. Building beyond a cap does not increase that category’s contribution. Because the full research costs 3,000 resources and takes 30 seconds, compare the expected delivery with ordinary production before committing.
