Function & construction
In the Commerce Age, a Royalist can train Whitecoats for 70 Food and 20 Coin or Cavaliers for 90 Food and 90 Coin. In the Fortress Age it can train Highlanders for 200 Coin. Move the Explorer or military units to capture the building, then keep friendly units nearby: an opponent can take it if the current owner has no units close enough to retain control. The structure itself cannot be damaged.
Placement & timing
Capture a Royalist when its roster and passive Experience support the next army timing, and protect the approaches after taking it. The two neutral sites make early scouting important; sending all units to one can leave the other open. Use its population support when planning the army cap, but remember that ownership can change even though the building is invulnerable. Treat it as a map objective and production point specific to this historical scenario, not a standard random-map barracks.
Retain control to keep the production and Experience
The Royalists combine a small production queue with a passive 0.7 Experience-per-second income. Capturing one therefore affects both the available units and future Home City shipments. Control is maintained by nearby friendly units, so a player who wins the initial fight but leaves the site empty can lose it without the building taking damage. Keep a force within supporting distance, and check the opponent’s route to the two neutral sites east of the Minster. The building’s 15 population support can also make a captured position more valuable when the army is near its current limit.
