Role & counters

A Warchief can reveal the map, fight guardians and participate in battles; its exact abilities and nearby-unit effects vary by civilization and game version. It is a recoverable hero in applicable modes, so keeping it alive preserves more than its personal damage.

When to field it

Scout with the Warchief early, collect safe Treasures and keep it near the army when its aura or abilities matter. Avoid exposing the hero to concentrated fire or dangerous guardians without support.

Use the civilization-specific profile

The generic Warchief name describes a hero role across Native American civilizations rather than one trainable unit with a universal cost or attack. Each civilization’s page—such as Aztec War Chief, Lakota War Chief or Haudenosaunee War Chief—lists the actual hit points, attacks and abilities. Warchiefs can support exploration and combat, while their civilization-specific effects can strengthen nearby forces or interact with Native settlements. Use this overview for the shared role, then open the matching civilization’s hero page for exact values and the correct version. A campaign Warchief may also use scenario rules that do not match the regular Native American roster.
