Overview

As the new king takes the throne, Gajah Mada turns Majapahit’s fleet toward the eastern islands. Rebuild a navy from a small foothold, secure resources across the archipelago, and dismantle the three rival fleets at their harbors.

Player approach

Serving the New King starts with a small Imperial Age force on an island with little room and incoming ship attacks. Find a safer resource foothold and use Harbors and Fire Ships to defend the base.

Step-by-step plan

Move north through the island to recruit local support and garrison damaged soldiers in the Town Center while Villager production starts. Build a small Fire Ship force to counter the early Makassar and Luwu attacks, using existing Harbors and Towers to cover the shoreline. Claim the nearby southwest island for gold and wood, wall the cliffs where they can protect workers, and use that expansion to sustain the next fleet. Guard Harbors against Cannon Galleons and keep transports behind the combat ships.

Risks and adjustments

The starting island cannot provide enough long-term resources, and exposed Harbors fall quickly to Cannon Galleons. Do not spend all the early wood on War Galleys; secure the resource island and protect the buildings that support naval income.
