Effect
Research it at a Farm in the Imperial Age after Green Corn Ceremony; it costs 1,000 Wood and 1,000 Coin and takes 30 seconds. The listed effect increases eligible Farm Food gathering and Hacienda Food auto-gather by 50%, and raises herded-animal gathering at Farms by 50%. These bonuses apply to the named sources rather than every Food income stream.
Research condition
Imperial Age; research at a Farm after Green Corn Ceremony. Cost: 1,000 Wood and 1,000 Coin; research time: 30 seconds. Civilization-specific access can vary.
Research decision
Research it when Farms, Haciendas or eligible livestock make up a large and lasting share of Food income. The Imperial cost is substantial, so compare the long-term return with units or technologies needed immediately. It is most effective when enough workers or automatic production can benefit for much of the remaining game.
The source mix determines its payoff
A 50% improvement matters only for the eligible Farm and Hacienda sources that are actually active. If the economy still relies mainly on hunting or another source, the technology does not raise that income. Check the number of workers assigned to Farms, the amount of livestock available and the remaining game time before investing the large resource cost.
