Scenario faction roster

The lists are grouped into units, buildings and technologies, then organized by the Age recorded in the game data. Shared options can appear in more than one civilization index; inclusion does not mean an item is unique. Follow an entry to check its cost, production or research site, prerequisites, counters and version band. A Home City Card, map alliance or scenario rule may change access, so this list is not a fixed build order.

Scope and availability

Scope: Age of Empires III campaign or scenario content. Availability is mission-specific; follow the linked scenario for the actual roster and objectives.

How to read the tree

Use this roster while reading the related story missions. The mission page determines which units are actually available and what the player must do; use individual unit entries for combat roles and values. Do not assume campaign access carries over into multiplayer.

Check the entry for version and prerequisites

An index can include options recorded across multiple Age of Empires III releases. Older faction names, card unlocks, research prerequisites and campaign-only rules can change availability. Check the linked page’s version band and conditions before applying an option to a specific game.

Campaign roster is mission-specific

This index groups United States campaign and scenario references; it is not the full technology tree for the playable United States civilization in Definitive Edition. Campaign missions can assign different starting forces, allied units, shipment decks and objectives, and those details belong to the individual battle pages. The saved campaign roster does not group unit, building or technology records under one shared faction list, so its zero counts should not be read as a claim that the United States campaign has no military forces. Open the relevant scenario to see its actual roster and rules before planning an army.

Start with the scenario that matches the battle

The Burning of USS Philadelphia is a concrete example of a scenario-specific United States force: it begins with 12 Marines, two Sloops and two Rowboats, a Fortress Age start, 250 Wood and a population cap of 60. Those figures describe that Historical Battle only. The other linked entries cover separate campaign acts, cooperative scenarios and Historical Battles, so do not carry Philadelphia’s starting units or resource limits into Battle of New Orleans, Battle of Queenston Heights or another mission. Use this index to choose the story or battle, then follow that scenario’s objectives and profile for its actual units.
