The Lost Spanish Gold
The Lost Spanish Gold is an Age of Empires III scenario in Act III: Steel (scenario 4), set in 1817. The player commands United States (campaign).

Scenario setting & objectives
The required goals are Destroy the three Outposts guarding the ruined Treasure Ships; Destroy Beaumont's Town Center. Optional goals include Build Trading Posts at the Native Villages; Bring Ká:nien to the revealed forest along the southeast edge of the swamp.
Mission approach
Destroy the three Outposts guarding the ruined Treasure Ships before concentrating on Beaumont’s Town Center. The Outposts protect the route to the main siege, so clear them with the starting force rather than sending Ká:nien through an unsafe swamp. Trading Posts and the southeast forest task are optional and should follow a secure approach.
Act III mission objectives and optional route
The Lost Spanish Gold is scenario four of Act III: Steel, set in Florida in 1817. Amelia, Major Cooper and Ká:nien travel to the Bayou after finding the Seminole map in the mines. The primary objectives are to destroy three Outposts guarding the ruined Treasure Ships and then destroy Beaumont’s Town Center. Optional goals are to build Trading Posts at Native Villages and bring Ká:nien to the forest revealed at the swamp’s southeast edge. The Outposts protect the ships, so clear their defenses before committing the army to the wreckage; then regroup for the assault on Beaumont’s base. Trading Posts can improve the route or provide Native access, but they are optional and should not draw away the units needed for the main attack. The mission follows The Boneguard’s Lair and precedes Bolivar’s Revolt. The ruined ships connect the campaign’s search for Spanish treasure with Amelia’s pursuit of Beaumont and the Fountain of Youth story. Keep Ká:nien safe if pursuing the southeast optional objective, and do not leave the Algiers-like mission flow confused with the separate co-op scenario.
Starting force and mission decisions
The scenario reunites Amelia with Ká:nien and Major Cooper after the events in the mines. The ruined Treasure Ships are guarded by three Outposts, and Beaumont’s Town Center is the second primary target. Destroy the Outposts before committing to the final base assault so that the army is not split across defended objectives. Trading Posts at Native Villages and bringing Ká:nien to the southeast forest are optional; take those routes if the force can protect the new positions without delaying the attack. This is the fourth mission of Act III: Steel in 1817 and follows The Boneguard’s Lair.
Clear the Treasure Ship Outposts before the final siege
The fourth Act III: Steel scenario places Amelia and Beaumont in a race for gold and the water of the Fountain of Youth. Destroy the three Outposts guarding the ruined Treasure Ships, then destroy Beaumont’s Town Center. Native Trading Posts and bringing Ká:nien to the revealed forest on the southeast edge of the swamp are optional, but can secure map access and explore the route. Use the army to clear each Outpost before exposing the heroes or builders, and keep the force together for the final Town Center attack. The swamp’s revealed forest is a specific navigation objective; check the marked edge rather than wandering through the center while the Circle remains active. Complete optional village access when it supports reinforcement, but the three Outposts and Beaumont’s Town Center remain the mission’s required sequence.
