Comanche
Comanche is an Age of Empires III minor civilization from North America. It appears on maps including Colorado, Great Plains, Ozarks, Painted Desert, Texas. Players can establish an alliance at its settlement to access its local units and research.

Settlement & allied options
A Trading Post at the settlement unlocks the alliance. Inca players use a Tambo for the same purpose. The listed allied roster includes Comanche Horse Archer. Its settlement offers these technologies: Comanche Trade Language, Comanche Horse Breeding, Comanche Mustangs. The available roster and technologies can vary with the selected map and release.
When to ally
Scout the map for a Comanche settlement before spending resources on an alliance. Use it when the listed unit or technology fills a need in the army or economy, and protect the Trading Post that provides access.
Horse Archer mobility and target selection
The Comanche Horse Archer is Commerce Age ranged cavalry with 200 hit points, 7.25 speed and 10% hand resistance. It costs 70 Food and 60 Wood and trains in 35 seconds. Its ranged attack deals 15 damage at range 12 every 1.5 seconds, with bonuses against Heavy cavalry, Artillery and Hand shock troops; its attack is much less effective against Villagers. Use mobility to kite or reposition, and avoid trading its reduced Villager damage for a worker-raiding role.
Cavalry upgrades and research savings
Comanche Horse Breeding raises the hit points of Cavalry and Shock Troops by 10% for 150 Food and 150 Coin. Comanche Mustangs increases the speed of those classes by 5% for 200 Wood and 200 Coin. Comanche Trade Language costs 100 Food and 100 Coin and reduces Coin costs for technologies and Wonders by 10%. The three upgrades support different plans—durability, movement or a Coin-saving research path—and each takes its own research time.
Map and alliance access
Comanche settlements are listed on Colorado, Great Plains, Ozarks, Painted Desert and Texas. A Trading Post, or an Inca Tambo, unlocks the alliance; the Native Embassy can also train Comanche Horse Archers. Scout the settlement early and protect the post if the plan depends on repeated research or unit production.
