Lifidi Knight is Hausa Heavy Cavalry available from the Fortress Age. It offers a mobile melee threat with attacks against units and buildings, but its speed and population cost make careful engagement selection important.

Role, availability & values

It can be produced at the War Camp and is also listed through the Fort or Battle Canoe under relevant access rules. It has 390 hit points, moves at 6.25 speed and has 20% ranged resistance. It costs two population, 110 Food and 110 Coin, takes 50 seconds, and has 25 hand, 15 siege and 16.67 trample damage.

Matchup & timing

Use Lifidi Knights to flank or pressure exposed targets, then withdraw when anti-cavalry units can pin them down. Keep them with support that can handle ranged counters. Their late Age and resource cost make them better as a planned addition than an emergency replacement.

Role, upgrades and matchups

The Lifidi Knight is Hausa Heavy Hand Cavalry introduced with The African Royals. Its defining durability comes from resisting both hand and ranged attacks: the current profile lists 390 hit points, 15% hand resistance and 20% ranged resistance. It is available in the Fortress Age from the War Camp, with Fort and Battle Canoe access also listed. At 110 Food and 110 Coin, two population and 50 seconds per unit, it is a sizeable commitment; earlier versions used different cost, health, resistance and training values, so the figures on this page describe the current Definitive Edition profile rather than every historical patch. It deals 25 hand damage every 1.5 seconds, 15 siege damage at range six every three seconds, and 16.67 trample damage in an area of three every two seconds. Its high health and dual resistances let it survive engagements that would quickly remove ordinary cavalry, but its damage is lower than a Cuirassier’s and its coin cost remains important. Light Infantry, counter-skirmishers and Artillery are listed as favorable targets; Heavy Infantry, Light Ranged Cavalry and ranged shock units are dangerous counters. Use speed 6.25 to attack an exposed flank or artillery position, then pull out before anti-cavalry can surround the unit. The Durbar Parade Home City Card gives Lifidi Knights area damage like Cuirassiers and Sipahi, changing their value against clustered formations. Hausa age upgrades improve them, and later Elite, Champion and Legendary Hand Cavalry upgrades increase combat statistics; the Elite upgrade also reduces training time. Haiti can receive a Lifidi Knight among the African units from the African Roots card. These interactions make the unit a flexible late-game cavalry choice, but its performance depends on timing, card support and a screened approach.

Hausa timing and battlefield use

For Hausa, the Lifidi Knight arrives with Fortress Age access, so it can form the durable cavalry part of an army after an early Hausa economy has developed. Its 50-second training time rewards queuing before the engagement begins. If the opponent is relying on Light Infantry or Artillery, Lifidi Knights can threaten those back-line targets, but they need a route around the frontline. Heavy Infantry and Light Ranged Cavalry are listed weaknesses, so do not simply charge through a prepared formation. Use Hausa infantry or allied units to occupy counters, then send the Knights to the side or rear. The 15% hand resistance and 20% ranged resistance are separate defensive values; neither removes the need to retreat when focused by multiple units. The Durbar Parade card is especially relevant if the opponent tends to group units, because it adds area damage to their attacks. Consider whether the card competes with a more urgent shipment before building the plan around it. Later Hand Cavalry upgrades increase the unit’s health and damage, while its Fortress Age automatic improvement is part of its normal progression. Its attack and hit-point figures have changed between updates, so comparisons with older guides should be checked against the current patch. Keep enough Coin income for replacement units: losing a two-population cavalry force can otherwise stall the next age or shipment.

Hausa heavy cavalry

The Lifidi Knight is Fortress Age heavy cavalry for the Hausa. It is trained at the War Camp, Fort or Battle Canoe, costs 110 Food and 110 Coin, uses two population and takes 50 seconds in the listed profile. A Lifidi Knight has 390 hit points, speed 6.25, 15% hand resistance and 20% ranged resistance. Its 25-damage melee attack strikes every 1.5 seconds; its trample attack deals area damage, while its special attack reaches six range.

Charge with infantry support

Lifidi Knights provide mobile hand damage and are most useful when they can reach vulnerable ranged units or reinforce a fight already held by Hausa infantry. Their cavalry role makes them vulnerable to anti-cavalry fire and melee counters, so avoid charging directly into prepared pikemen or concentrated guns. At two population and a combined 220-resource cost, repeated production requires a steady Food and Coin economy. Keep them moving around the edge of the engagement and use the War Camp’s other units to screen them from the counters that can trade efficiently into heavy cavalry.
