Settlement & allied options

A Trading Post at the settlement unlocks the alliance. Inca players use a Tambo for the same purpose. The listed allied roster includes Mapuche Ironwood Clubman, Mapuche Bolas Rider*. Its settlement offers these technologies: Mapuche Ad-mapu, Mapuche Tactics, Mapuche Treaty of Quillin. The available roster and technologies can vary with the selected map and release.

When to ally

Scout the map for a Mapuche settlement before spending resources on an alliance. Use it when the listed unit or technology fills a need in the army or economy, and protect the Trading Post that provides access.

Practical direction

In a cavalry-heavy matchup, the Ironwood Clubman’s 2.5× hand bonus gives the alliance a direct answer; its 26 siege damage can also threaten a structure once the area is clear. Mapuche Tactics improves Hand Infantry siege attacks, so it complements a push built around Clubmen and other eligible troops but does nothing for ranged or artillery attacks. Ad-mapu is better when several trained units would otherwise consume substantial Coin. It reduces only the Coin component of unit prices, not Food or Wood. Treaty of Quillin is a separate long-game choice: research it early to receive more timed chests, then preserve the post while installments arrive. The Clubman moves at 4.75 and has 20% hand resistance, but no ranged attack; keep it screened on approach and use its siege attack after the opposing army is displaced. These options have different payback windows, so sequence them around the army’s current resource bottleneck rather than researching all three automatically. Ad-mapu returns only when the chosen roster spends Coin, while Treaty of Quillin provides its fixed deliveries independently of worker assignments. Compare those distinct benefits with the immediate Food and Wood needed to train or replace the Clubman.

Ironwood Clubman stops cavalry and pressures structures

The Commerce Age Mapuche Ironwood Clubman costs 100 Food and 65 Wood and trains in 35 seconds. It has 200 hit points, 20% hand resistance and 4.75 speed. Its 24-damage hand attack carries a 2.5× bonus against Cavalry and 1.75× against Shock troops; its 26 siege damage gives the infantry a direct structure-pressure role. The Clubman is a melee counter, so support it against ranged units and use the siege attack when the area is secure.

Coin savings, siege damage and timed Coin

Mapuche Ad-mapu lowers unit Coin costs by 10% for 250 Wood and 250 Coin. Mapuche Tactics increases Hand Infantry siege attack damage by 50% for 200 Food and 200 Wood. Mapuche Treaty of Quillin costs 225 Food and 225 Wood and delivers a 100-Coin chest every two minutes of game time up to 30 minutes, a maximum of 15 chests or 1,500 Coin. All three take 10 seconds to research; the first rewards continued unit production, the second supports siege, and the third rewards an early investment in a long match.

Build the alliance around the match length

A Trading Post on a Mapuche settlement, or an Inca Tambo, unlocks the unit and technologies; the Native Embassy is another Ironwood Clubman training route. Secure the site before depending on its options. Treaty of Quillin has the largest long-term return when researched early and the match reaches later installments, while the Clubman and Tactics can address an immediate cavalry or building objective.
