Function & construction
It costs 200 Wood and 100 Coin, takes 40 seconds, has 3,000 hit points and 34 line of sight. The build limit is four and it provides ten population. It can garrison up to ten land units; each uses one less population while inside. Unlike a War Hut, it has no attack. Native Villagers and Kallanka Travois are among its builders; other access depends on cards or mode.
Placement & timing
Place it where the army can use production and shipment access without exposing it to siege. Garrison reserves when the population reduction creates room for a queue, then release them when the front needs support. Its sight and garrison do not provide automatic defense: keep field units nearby.
Production and garrison role
The Fortress Age roster consists of Bolas Warriors, Huaracas and Macemen. The building also receives Home City shipments, so a forward site can shorten reinforcement access. Up to ten land units can shelter inside, and each uses one fewer population while garrisoned. This helps near the population limit, but those units are temporarily unavailable in the field. Since the Kallanka cannot attack, its defense must come from the army.
Positioning and version notes
The Kallanka's 34 line of sight reveals approaches, but its 3,000 hit points do not make it a tower. Build within reach of a force that can repel siege, especially when it is a production point and shipment destination. Definitive Edition changed its build limit and experience values in update 9476, then increased population support to ten in update 20322. Older guides may show a three-building cap or no population contribution. Garrisoning reduces population use by one per unit, not by its full cost.
Upgrade and builder access
Native Villagers and Kallanka Travois can construct it; other builders may come from cards or game modes. In the Industrial Age, Viracocha Worship costs 750 Wood and 750 Coin, delivers two Builder Travois and lets them build Town Centers, War Huts, Strongholds and Estates. This supports wider Inca expansion, while the Kallanka remains a military and garrison building. Check card access before planning around a special builder.
