Watch Tower
Watch Tower is a defensive and civilization-support building introduced with The African Royals. It can attack nearby enemies, and its Berber access adds unit training and technology research to the structure. The recorded version has 2,000 hit points, 32 line of sight and a one-building limit, making placement more important than mass construction.

Function & construction
A Watch Tower Builder constructs it in 14 seconds. Its exact roster and technologies depend on whether Berber functions are enabled in the active civilization or scenario; the tower should not be treated as a universal Barracks. Its range of sight can reveal an approach, while its attack helps cover workers and a nearby route.
Placement & timing
Place it where its vision and defensive fire protect an economic line or a route your army can reinforce. The one-tower limit makes it a positional choice, not a substitute for several Outposts. Keep mobile units nearby because artillery or a concentrated attack can still overcome a fixed defense.
African garrison, outlaw production and upgrades
The African Watch Tower costs 250 Wood, takes 50 seconds to build, has 2,000 hit points and a 32 line of sight. It can fire on enemy land units and ships, receive Home City shipments, garrison up to twenty Villagers and compatible support units, and train Outlaws. In the Commerce Age it can produce Desert Warriors or Desert Archers for 30 Food and 75 Coin each, Desert Raiders for 50 Food and 130 Coin, and Corsair Marksmen for 35 Food and 80 Coin after Arma Garrisons. The Sentry Tower upgrade costs 400 Wood and 200 Coin in the Fortress Age, adds 50% ranged attack damage, and gives Frontier Fortifications five additional line of sight. The building is more than a passive Outpost, but its 250-Wood cost and limited build limit make placement important. Cover a border, crossing or valuable workers, then garrison or produce defenders when a raid approaches; do not leave it isolated against siege units.
African defense and Berber access
The Watch Tower is a defensive structure introduced with The African Royals. It costs 250 Wood, has 2,000 hit points, 32 line of sight and a one-tower limit in the recorded profile. A Watch Tower Builder completes it quickly, and its attack can cover nearby workers or a route. Berber access can add outlaw training and technologies, but the exact roster depends on civilization and scenario; it is not a universal Barracks.
Choose the tower’s location carefully
Place the Watch Tower where its vision reveals an approach and its fire supports an army that can respond. It has a 24-range attack with bonuses against Cavalry and Shock troops, but reduced damage against siege and Villagers. A fixed defense can be overwhelmed by artillery, so keep mobile units nearby. The limited build count makes location important: cover an economic line or contested route rather than using it as a substitute for multiple Outposts.
